June 12, 2008 - Munich, Germany and Westford, MA, USA - Zuken continues to bolster support for the integration of FPGA technology onboard by making a simulation kit available for Altera's low-cost Cyclone® III FPGA family of products. This new design kit is free to download for users of Zuken's CR-5000 advanced modular and robust electronics systems and PCB design suite. Board designers can save time and increase quality by simulating signal integrity of FPGAs during both the circuit design and layout phases, without the need to construct their own what-if scenarios or map to simulation models.
The kit provides an extensive set of topology templates and simulation models that make it easy to compare real board performance against engineering needs and constraints using waveform and eye pattern analysis. This simplifies the process of translating net topology specifications in application notes to layout constraints. An in-context help facility explains special high-speed layout requirements in context. "Our partnership with Zuken enables us to deliver our mutual customers comprehensive design environments that leverage Altera's CPLD and FPGA technology," said Jim Smith, director of EDA vendor relations at Altera. "Zuken's Cyclone III FPGA simulation kit will allow CR-5000 users the ability to develop innovative products rapidly and cost effectively." "Through our partnership with Altera we have already released free downloadable footprint design kits for the MAX ® II CPLD and the Cyclone III FPGA, as well as simulation kits for the Stratix ® II and the Arria T GX FPGA. Releasing the simulation kit for the Cyclone III FPGA is the next step in achieving our objective to do everything we can to facilitate the adoption of new technology for our customers," said Werner Rissiek, Zuken's European Engineering General Manager.
Free downloads are available for Zuken customers with an active maintenance contract from the Zuken Customer Support website - LinkZ. Visit www.zuken.com/linkz |
