PolyWorks(R) V12 To Offer Parametric 2D Sketching for Solid Modeling Workflows

October 15, 2010 - Québec, Canada - InnovMetric Software is pleased to announce that the version 12 of PolyWorks/Modeler(TM) will offer new parametric 2D sketching capabilities. This development project is inscribed within a vision of true interoperability with CAD/CAM applications in which the role of PolyWorks is to optimize geometric entity creation on digitized polygonal models and accelerate the production of 100% native models in professional CAD software.

The PolyWorks V12 parametric sketcher will support:
Arc, line, circle, and spline entities
Automatic and interactive entity creation and editing
Relational constraints between entities (horizontal, vertical, tangent, perpendicular)
Dimensional constraints between entities
Sketches will be exportable to the IGES format. Plug-ins for SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor CAD software are initially planned and will allow the import of sketch entities and constraints.
The PolyWorks V12 parametric sketcher will be jointly demonstrated by InnovMetric Software and Duwe 3D at EuroMold 2010, a trade fair held December 1-4 in Frankfurt, Germany.
