Users of modo 302 from Luxology - which provides true 3D sculpting tools to model, sculpt, paint, and render images - can now create hand rendered presentations of their 3D models with Piranesi, the award winning "3D Painting" technology. Informatix Software International Ltd recently developed the Epix file exporter using the modo File I/O SDK. The plug-in is available as a free download from http://www.piranesi.co.uk

Bob Bennett, Vice President of Marketing for modo, says "Piranesi is one of the cooler applications for giving a hand rendered look to your 3D model with a minimum of fuss. Many times that is exactly what you want to deliver to your AEC clients, particularly in the early stages of a project. This software would appear to be a good match for use alongside modo, and Piranesi runs on both the Mac and PC's just like modo does."
Modo is recognised as one of the quickest and easiest polygon/subdivision surface modellers available, enabling architects and visualisation specialists to create more detailed models in a shorter timeline. Modo 302 allows you to render to Piranesi's Epix file format in which every pixel has a depth and material value as well as a colour. Piranesi can quickly paint in textures and details such as people, furniture, or plants.
