International C4I Leaders To Gather In Brussels for 7th Annual Battlespace Information Conference

25th October 2007 - Leading government and defence NEC decision makers are once again set to gather in Brussels for the annual meeting of the C4ISTAR personnel – Battlespace Information 2008. Between April 14th-17th 2008 senior military personnel each dealing directly in the area of NEC/NCW defence GIS, remote sensing, cartography, operations, and imagery & analysis experts will gather in London to discuss the ever-changing geospatial intelligence environment and how GIS is being used in scenarios such as international conflicts, humanitarian disasters, crime, security, border control, arms treaty monitoring and global climate change.

The key theme of Battlespace Information 2008 is implementing affordable, timely, adaptable and interoperable systems in order to shorten the sensor to shooter cycle for more effective command and control and greater military effect. Issues to be covered at next year’s conference include:

· Effectively Implementing Chief Information Officers into defence

· Improving situational awareness

· Open source Intelligence

· Phases from experimentation through to implementation

· Writing requirements to swiftly implement systems

The conference will attract over 300 delegates who will benefit from 54 defence and industry case studies from the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Israel, South Africa, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Finland, Czech Republic, NATO And the EU as well as many other countries.
