Munich-based visualisation expert Realtime Technology AG (RTT AG) makes its software solution accessible for small-scale architecture and design offices

Munich, 8 July 2008 – In the past, high-end visualisation solutions such as RTT DeltaGen were used almost exclusively by larger companies.  The data preparation required for the design process was very time-consuming and expensive for smaller businesses.  The latter were also using the widespread AutoCAD CAD system which was incompatible with RTT DeltaGen at the time.  However, this is now set to change thanks to the new RTT DirectAutoCAD conversion tool.  This will allow smaller architecture and design offices to use the industry-leading RTT DeltaGen visualisation software.  The tool will be out soon and will also be available as part of an optional package with forthcoming RTT DeltaGen 8.0.

Real-time, photorealistic 3D visualisation projects based on CAD (computer-aided design) data have been a source of great excitement for both designers and their customers for some time, now.  One of the reasons for this is that these virtual models are now almost indistinguishable from the real thing due to their extraordinary levels of detail.  When creating CAD data, smaller architecture and design offices usually depend on AutoCAD or systems that are compatible with the DWG data format.  Up to now, it has not been possible for these businesses to directly use high-end visualisation solutions (such as RTT DeltaGen).  Now, designers can use the RTT DirectAutoCAD conversion tool to convert their original data very rapidly and prepare it for the visualisation process in RTT DeltaGen.

“The RTT DirectAutoCAD conversion tool will increase the flexibility of RTT DeltaGen and make our solutions accessible to a wider user base”, explains Ludwig A. Fuchs, co-founder and board member of Realtime Technology AG.  “This means that architects, media designers or small-scale design offices can now also take advantage of our exceptional visualisation technology.”
