Incorporating a wealth of new functionality and capabilities, Cabinet Vision Solid V4.1 enables customers throughout the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and shopfitting sectors to streamline their complete design, visualisation, manufacturing and commercial operations. It is also backed by Cabinet Vision's eSupport service, which provides 24/7 access to technical forums monitored by specialist support personnel from around the world. ESupport users can not only access valuable operating hints and tips, but also download officially supported standard components and jointing packages from Blum Tandembox, Blum Metabox, Grass Zargen, Rafix jointing, Blind Dado jointing, Dowel jointing and more - to further reduce their manufacturing lead times. In addition, Windows XP and Vista-compliant Cabinet Vision Solid V4.1 includes comprehensive data, order codes and costing information on 86 styles of Egger board, enhanced texture mapping, and a series of new door and finishing catalogues. V4.1's powerful parametric design capabilities enable families of products or new variants to be defined in moments, with full associativity and instant updating of relevant assembly components as dimensions are amended. It also features simplified specification of closets/cupboards and their internal fittings, as well as an enhanced assembly and Counter Top design wizard. The software's improved CAD tools, visualisation and technical drawing capabilities are supported by an uprated DXF import preview and the ability to download data from Alphacam's JobSite Companion, a convenient hand-held PDA device that enables users to input furniture and room dimensions on site, mark electrical locations and even attach digital photographs. New costing and pricing functionality within V4.1 provides close control of commercial procedures. In parallel, more than 200 standard document formats - including everything from cut and picking lists to manufacturing reports and labels - are available as standard. The system also supports Crystal Reports, enabling users to tailor analyses and output to their individual requirements. Also on show at KBB2008 will be the latest release of Planit's CNC Center application, a core product that integrates with the company's Cabinet Vision and Cabnetware systems. Capable of nesting, cutter path optimisation and the creation of machine ready G-code for saws, point-to-point machines and CNC routers, CNC Center will automatically produce geometry and machining data from Cabinet Vision and Cabnetware for virtually any CNC machine tool. Planit offers the industry's only fully integrated software solution for 'Screen-to-Machine' production. With support for Nest-Based Manufacturing (NBM) and Work Cell Manufacturing, Planit NC Center delivers a wide range of benefits for today's woodworking businesses. Its latest capabilities include the linking of part profiles to enable all components on a sheet to be produced in a single pass, with a single lead in and lead out cut. As a result, 'onion skinning' operations can normally be eliminated, with a corresponding reduction in cycle times of as much as 30% in many cases. About Cabinet VisionCabinet Vision is a leading design to manufacturing solution for bespoke woodwork manufacturers, whether they manufacture by hand or employ the latest CNC technology. There are more than 12,000 Cabinet Vision users around the world.
